Whitchurch Cricket Club

The privately-owned cricket ground in the village was acquired for the community in 2012 and renamed the Village Green.

Whitchurch Football Club

Pangbourne Tennis Club

The club has three hard tennis courts at the Pangbourne Recreation Ground. Also on Facebook.

Bowls Clubs

The nearest club is in Pangbourne, now that the Goring Heath club has closed.

Fly Fishing

David Maynerd, a resident of the High Street, offers taster sessions in fly fishing at Barn Elms Fishery near Bradfield. The season runs from 1st March to December. Contact him by email  or 07831 884474.

Canoeing, Kayaking and Climbing

Adventure Dolphin, based at the Dolphin Centre on the Pangbourne bank of the Thames, runs water and land based courses for paddlers and climbers of all ages. Pangbourne Canoe Club is the competitive arm. In April 2018 West Berkshire Council handed responsibility for running the centre to a board of trustees. This report explains the changes.

Thames Scullers

Thames Scullers based at Sheepwash Lane, Whitchurch on Thames, is a brand new junior club, operating under the rules and guidelines set out by British Rowing with child welfare at the heart. 

Badminton

Real Tennis

There are only 28 real tennis courts in the UK and Whitchurch is well provided for the historic indoor game. Hardwick House has a court, still in active use (contact email), and The Oratory at Woodcote is one of four UK schools with a court. The Oratory’s professional is a former world champion (contact email).
